Charlie Spink is our Dispatch Manager. From the Concord-area, Charlie has been in the Traffic Control business as a Laborer, a retail salesman, a creator of traffic plans, an estimator and a dispatcher for over 12 years. He is reachable 24/7, so if need a traffic control bid for an upcoming job or if you need an emergency crew right away, give Charlie a call.
Jim Rasmussen is our Office Manager. Born in Livermore, he is from a big family and has experience working with tradesmen and the construction industry. Jim runs our sign shop and rental division. Jim is ready to help you design and build the right sign for your jobsite and your budget. If you need traffic safety equipment to get your job done, call Jim to coordinate whatever that is: barricades, arrowboards, cones, delineators, signs and much more.

We have been in business since 1985, and are specialists in the installation and removing of construction area signs, traffic control systems (lane closures), and flagging. We also have a complete working sign shop. We are insured to meet Cal Trans requirements and are members of American Traffic Safety Services Associations (ATSSA). We provide cones, barricades, signs, arrowboards trailers and a variety of other contractor safety supplies for sale and rent. Cal Safety, Inc. also has a full store with reflective vests, reflective jackets, hardhats, and a variety of signs.

Kevin Karrick is our Operations Manager. He is from the Fremont-area, and has been in the Traffic Control business for over 30 years. He is an industry veteran with experience in every aspect of the field including creating Traffic Control Plans, estimating, supervising and executing major freeway closures, servicing and programming message boards, traffic striping, placing K-rail, installing crash cushions, water-barriers and more.
Carmel E. Karrick founded Cal-Safety Inc. in 1985 and has been the owner and president ever since. She has been running this Cal Trans Certified Women’s Business Enterprise for four decades, and has been recognized by The Silicon Valley Business Journal as one of the Top 50 Women Business Owners in the Bay Area. She is a proud Catholic and an active member of Saint Raymond’s Parish.
